______________
I am scaling
back my teaching, and other than a few 2009 workshops that are "in the works", what is listed below is all that I'm offering
for workshops. Many, many thanks to those people who have been kindly supportive....
Student Comments: I have received some pretty heartwarming comments from students, but this one made me weak
in the knees....I'm sharing it with the permission of Barb, the student who wrote it (thanks, Barb..I am so flattered..)..
"I want to thank you so very much for sharing yourself and your amazing expertise. You are an amazing artist with the rare
ability to share your knowledge with others. As you said to me in our class, I have had the good fortune to learn from several
incredibly talented artists and teachers but you are certainly one of the best. The hours and hours of time required to develop
your skills and expertise is extremely impressive. I recognize after spending 2 days with you that your incredible creativity
allows you to come up with techniques no one else has thought of. Then the hours of work you put into preparing for the class
is very evident. Finally, you explain things so clearly and in such detail that I understood immediately what I needed to
do to produce a beautiful polymer cane. But more than anything else, your sincerity and openness allowed me to truly enjoy
you and therefore my entire weekend. Everytime I look at my cane I can't stop myself from smiling. That feeling of happiness
is priceless."
I teach a workshop once a month at
Roberts Crafts in Sandy, Utah. If you would like more info
about that workshop, or any of the workshops listed below, I welcome your emailed inquiry!

Create an Intricate and Colorful Arabesque Cane and 'Tapestry'
Floral Eruption Pendant
In this intermediate workshop, learn the fundamentals of Arabesque Caning, creating
a beautiful, intricate cane, one with a 'tapestry' feel to it. With that cane you will create a beautiful Floral Eruption
Pendant. This Eruption design gives the impression of flower petals bursting open, erupting from the flower center...very
chrysanthemum-like. This course is jam packed with new and innovative caning ideas and techniques that will spill over
into any type of caning you enjoy doing...and learning the techniques for creating my Eruption styled jewelry will open a
flood gate of creative ideas!

Create an Intricate Lace Arabesque Cane and Floral Eruption
Pendant
In this two day workshop, learn the fundamentals of Arabesque Caning by building an Intricate
Lace cane, and then with your cane create a beautiful Floral Eruption Pendant. This Eruption design gives the impression
of flower petals bursting open, erupting from the flower center...very chrysanthemum-like. As with my other Arabeque
Workshops, this course is jam packed with new and innovative caning ideas and techniques that you will be able to apply to
any type of caning you enjoy, and the new skills learned in creating your Eruption piece will be invaluable additions to your
clay knowledge!
Workshop #3: Magical Transformation!(Beginner/Intermediate)

Transform Old Canes with Arabesque Caning and Create
'Fleur d'Lis' Style Jewelry
This exciting two day workshop begins with learning to recycle your older
(perhaps less attractive!) canes into an Arabesque Cane. With your Arabesque Cane, you will learn to make Fleur
d'Lis style jewelry. In addition to learning my technique for creating perfectly shaped Fleur d'Lis pieces, you will learn
in depth my method for incorporating Swarovski crystals into your polymer pieces. This method allows you to "set in" the
stones for a professional, finely crafted look, while ensuring that the stones are secure. Also, learn to 'mechanically'
bond your eyepins and findings into your polymer clay jewelry, for a life-time hold. You'll learn many new skills in bringing
new life to old canes and in constructing this beautiful jewelry with set-in stones.
Workshop #4: Woven Illusions (Beginner/Intermediate)
| Basketweave, Braid and Ribbon Canes |

Create Basketweave, Braid, and Ribbon Canes and Sectional
Jewelry with "Strap and Rivet" Adornments
In this two day workshop, you’ll learn to make gorgeous,
highly dimensional Basket weave, Braid and Ribbon canes. I find that I come back to Basket weave canes quite a bit in my work
for their intriguing 3D illusions and simple beauty....I'm sure you'll find these canes valuable in your work as well. After
making the canes, you will learn to create simple, yet striking Sectional jewelry. In addition, you will learn my "Strap
and Rivet" and "Lacing" techniques. I love that the straps and rivets give a somewhat industrial look that contrasts nicely
with the softness of the canework...kind of a 'leather and lace' thing.....Also, learn to 'mechanically' bond your eyepins
and findings into your polymer clay jewelry, for a life-time hold. As with my other workshops, this one is full to the brim
with innovative and valuable skills and information.
